Seven Bangladeshis are among the 108 foreigners detained in Malaysia.

Malaysia is still conducting operations to apprehend undocumented immigrants. At least seven further Bangladeshi expats have been arrested in Malaysia on immigration-related offenses.

The Bangladeshis were taken into custody by the nation’s law enforcement officers on Saturday, January 27.

Based on the report the Immigration Department carried out an operation on Saturday against undocumented immigrants in the Pasar Harian Selang neighborhood of Kuala Lumpur’s capital. Seven Bangladeshi laborers and 108 other unauthorized foreign nationals were detained during this operation.

Allauddin Abdul Majid is a Kuala Lumpur police chief said that the operation was directed at criminal activities in the city. Particularly those involving unauthorized immigrants.

A total of 52 Indonesian people have been detained as part of the operation. Apart from that, 35 Myanmar people, 12 Indians, 7 Bangladeshis and one each from Pakistan and Nepal have been apprehended.

Earlier, the Malaysian Immigration Department detained 85 Bangladeshi migrant workers in a separate operation last Wednesday on allegations of participation in different forms of immigration violations. These Bangladeshis were taken into custody during raids at various locations.
