Shakib Requests Prayers from the Nation for Tamim’s Recovery

In a heartfelt appeal, Bangladesh cricket star Shakib Al Hasan has requested prayers for his former teammate and close friend, Tamim Iqbal, who recently suffered a massive heart attack. The incident occurred during a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at BKSP, where Tamim fell critically ill and had to be rushed to KPC Hospital in Savar.

Doctors performed an emergency procedure, including the placement of a heart stent, and Tamim is currently under observation in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU). Encouragingly, he has regained consciousness and has been able to communicate with his family.

Shakib, who celebrated his birthday on March 24, took to social media to express his concern and love for Tamim. “Today is a special day for me, but my heart isn’t fully happy because my dear teammate and friend Tamim Iqbal is unwell,” Shakib wrote. He reminisced about their shared memories on the cricket field and expressed hope for Tamim’s speedy recovery, calling him “one of the biggest forces in Bangladesh cricket.”

In a touching gesture, Shakib asked the nation to join him in praying for Tamim’s health, stating, “Your prayers for Tamim will be the best gift for my birthday. Please pray that my brother Tamim recovers quickly and returns to the field.”
