Shakil Ahmed and Farzana Rupa were Detained at Dhaka Airport Recently

Former chief of news of Ekattor Television Shakil Ahmed and his wife and the TV channel’s former principal correspondent and presenter Farzana Rupa were detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka as they allegedly tried to leave the country.

Confirming the matter, Dhaka Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner Obaidur Rahman said that movement authorities kept them and gave them over to the analyst branch.

At present, the couple is in the custody of DB. They have been arrested in a murder case registered at Uttara East police station.

Ekattor Television’s Head of News Shakil Ahmed and Chief Correspondent Farzana Rupa were sacked on August 8.
