The UK will provide a $311 million package to help replenish Ukraine’s artillery reserves.
In an effort to strengthen Ukraine’s artillery ammunition stocks, Britain would invest 245 million pounds ($311 million) over the course of the next year, the defense ministry announced on Saturday, the day that Russia’s invasion began.
In its struggle to resist Russia, Ukraine is in serious need of more military support from Western nations due to severe ammunition shortages. Congress must vote in order for the United States, its biggest donor, to consider providing more military help.
The international community’s assistance is essential for them to prevail in this battle, which is why we are doing everything in our power to guarantee Ukraine can keep fighting for triumph.” In a statement, British Defense Minister Grant Shapps said.
Since February 2022, the United Kingdom has committed to providing Ukraine with military aid valued at about $8.8 billion (7 billion pounds).
In order to acquire $60 billion, Congress must first approve the $44 billion in security aid that U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has already given to Ukraine.
Reports, Germany, the second-largest donor of military aid to Ukraine, has committed to and already provided about 28 billion euros ($30.2 billion) in military aid.
Through the European Peace Facility, the European Union has pledged to providing military assistance worth about 6 billion euros.
