The UN Secretary General can receive the Nobel Peace Prize

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres may receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2024. In addition to the UN Secretary General, the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) are also in talks for the Nobel Peace Prize.

The names of the Nobel Prize winners of each category of 2024 will be announced from this month. The name of the Nobel Peace Prize winner will be announced on October 11 in Oslo, the capital of Norway.

Imprisoned Iranian women’s rights lawyer Nargis Mohammadi won the Nobel Peace Prize last year. The Swedish Royal Academy handles the nomination and awarding of the awards in the four other categories except peace. And the Norwegian Nobel Committee is responsible for nominating and awarding Nobel Peace Prize candidates.
