Stefanie Constantine and Amos Meaner continued their winning streak in the mixed doubles, defeating Kristin Salient and Magnus Nedregotten of Norway 8-5, to earn Italy their first-ever Olympic curling medal. The Italian pair were nearly flawless, as they avenged their World Cup quarterfinal loss to Norway by controlling the majority of the match.
With a commanding victory over Norway, Italy’s mixed doubles team continued their winning streak and won the gold medal in curling at the Olympics.
In the championship match, Norwegians Kristin Salient and Magnus Nedregotten were defeated 8–5 by Stefanie Constantine and Amos Moaners, who extended their winning streak to 11 games. Magnus Nedregotten was unable to continue their winning ways against Team GB in the semifinals.
The Italian delegation gave a hearty round of applause when they won their first-ever gold curling medal.
