Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to depart for New York on September 22, 2024, to attend the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session. He will stay there for only five days.

During the session, Yunus will engage with world leaders, policymakers, and various stakeholders to share insights and progress on social business models and poverty reduction strategies. His presence at the UNGA underscores his ongoing commitment to addressing global issues and contributing to the international dialogue on sustainable development.

The UN General Assembly, held annually in New York, serves as a critical platform for member states to discuss pressing global issues and coordinate international responses.

During the visit, the Chief Adviser is also expected to attend a reception marking the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s relations with the United Nations
